The French word for “eggplant” is so elegant – aubergine.

Yes, it’s definitely summer.

If you noticed at the farmers market, we’re vending loads of different summer squashes, and cucumbers are starting to really come on. We’re growing five varieties of cucumbers in greenhouses. One is a pickling variety, and the rest are primarily slicers, but of course, one can preserve those too. We got a bit behind in trellising them, but the crops seem pretty happy. The lemon cucumbers take more time to produce, but they are growing and hopefully soon, they’ll have fruits.
